Absolutely not!  As medical professionals, we cannot stress enough the importance of your medical ultrasound.  The 3D/4D ultrasound is elective and does not in any way replace any ultrasound that your healthcare provider has ordered.  This is why we require that you have already had your medical ultrasound before you come in for your 3D/4D ultrasound.

There are many factors involved in obtaining clear images including but not limited to – maternal hydration, fetal position, fetal activity, placental positioning, maternal tissue, and amniotic fluid.
– We use the state of the art equipment and our sonographers are highly qualified. We will work in every way possible to obtain the clearest images and to persuade your baby not to be shy.
– If your baby remains in a comfortable position and will not budge we will invite you back for a second appointment.

Drink plenty of water or non-caffeinated beverages for 3-4 days prior to your appointment. Being well hydrated will help in obtaining and optimizing your images. You DO NOT need a full bladder for your scan.
